2012 North Star Classic

Valley City was exceptionally warm and dry.  I think most of Dakota County was in attendance at the show as we had Will Bolllum and Hannah Neil along with us.  The Shorthorn was third in class behind two blue roans and the cross heifer ran into some tough competition.  We home to be buying in the revamped club calf sale next year.

T and Hope our home raised Shadybrook Scotty daughter.

2013 Minnesota State Sale. . .

Hard to believe we are already getting entries ready for the Minnesota State Shorthorn sale to be held on March 3/3/2013 at Jim Simon Arena in Cannon Falls Minnesota!  Here is a preview of our offering. 
All heifers are AI'd on 6/15/2012 for early March 2013 calves and pasture exposed to ADS Mister Conquest 009x until 9/30/2012.  Will post updates as they arise.

This bred is sired by Shadybrook Scotty and back to an female who goes back to Juda Ben Hur and was purchased from Dr. Bert Moore at a previous state sale.  She was AI'd to DF Builtmore.

103y is right out of the heart of the bred heifer pen.  Sired by DF Builtmore and out of a Deerhorn Red Prince daughter (see sires page for his pic).  She was AI'd to Jake's Proud Jazz 266L.

Dark roan bred heifer.  Gayle 126y is from a long line of solid females decending from the Stangland herd in Barnsville MN.  She is the first bred offspring from our senior herd bull BSF Fresh Prince (see sires page on blog for pic) and we are really excited about his progeny.  We have a pile of her half sisters in the yearling pen so we decided to let her go.  She was AI'd to Jake's Prince of Jazz.

2012 Minnesota Beef Expo

The beef expo went with a flash!  So many activitied and of course donating a fine heifer to Natalie made it all worth the work.  Here are a few pics to share.

This was T's first year at the State Fair showing beef.  She had fun and ran into a tough class of Shorthorn Plus Steers. Where she also was a finalist for Beef Inerviews we are so proud!!
